Ark Energy partnership strengthens Queensland's emerging renewable hydrogen industry
Townsville’s bid to become a renewable hydrogen powerhouse has been further strengthened with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between TAFE Queensland and Ark Energy Corporation Pty Ltd.
Through the partnership, TAFE Queensland will deliver training to upskill and reskill Ark Energy’s workforce along with its affiliated companies, including Sun Metals and Townsville Logistics, to ensure the safe production, handling and use of hydrogen across various applications in the energy transition and in particular ultra-heavy transport to reduce CO2 emissions.
The aim of the partnership is to help fast track the development of the industry and ensure both Ark Energy and Queensland is equipped with a highly skilled, job-ready future workforce to meet demand.
Ark Energy is proud to be one of the first movers in the hydrogen industry and partnering with the market leading provider of vocational education and training in Queensland will ensure they are well placed to support a prosperous hydrogen industry, helping Queensland to reach its ambitious target of 50 per cent renewable energy by 2030.
Ark Energy believe Townsville can grow a strong domestic and globally competitive hydrogen industry and TAFE Queensland is ready to support them with quality, innovative and progressive training and facilities.
