The TAFE Queensland Scholarship Foundation recently hosted a vibrant networking breakfast at the South Bank campus, bringing together scholarship recipients, sponsors, donors, and distinguished guests to celebrate educational achievement and community support.

This year marks a significant milestone — 10 years of the TAFE Queensland Scholarship Program, which has awarded over $3.4 million in scholarships to more than 720 Queenslanders since its inception in 2015.

TAFE Queensland CEO John Tucker said that the scholarships have a profound impact on a student’s journey.

“Scholarships can be life-changing for students, providing them with the financial support and encouragement they need to build a better future for themselves and those around them,” said Mr Tucker.

“We are incredibly grateful for the support from all of our sponsors and supporters who generously donate each year to the TAFE Queensland Scholarship Foundation that funds our scholarships program.”

“We know the power of training and skills and with our sponsors' support, we are helping our students to change their lives and achieve their career aspirations.”

Held on Thursday 23 October 2025, the event welcomed The Honourable John-Paul Langbroek, Minister for Education and the Arts, who acknowledged the remarkable accomplishments of the 2025 scholarship recipients. The Minister was joined by the TAFE Queensland Scholarship Foundation Board members Jane Seawright and Mary Campbell, TAFE Queensland CEO John Tucker and members of the TAFE Queensland Executive.

The breakfast celebrated students who are currently studying a broad range of study areas including cyber security, air conditioning and refrigeration, early childhood education and care, and graphic design.

Notably, Dryden Bingham, a Certificate III student in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (UEE32220) apprentice, delivered a heartfelt speech about the impact of his scholarship, sponsored by the Australian Refrigeration Council.

Generous support from the Foundation sponsors was acknowledged throughout the morning. Their contributions continue to make scholarships possible for students facing financial hardship, social disadvantage, or systemic barriers.

A number of dedicated staff members from the Workplace Giving Program were also in attendance. Their efforts have raised vital funds to support students in need, reinforcing the Foundation’s mission to foster inclusive and equitable education.
