Ken Done Bursts into HOTA with TAFE Queensland
TAFE Queensland is proud to be a presenting partner of the Ken Done: No Rules exhibition, now open at HOTA, Home of the Arts.
This high-profile cultural event celebrates one of Australia’s most iconic artists and gives the Gold Coast community a unique opportunity to engage with bold, contemporary Australian art.
Acting General Manager of TAFE Queensland Gold Coast, Robert Petherbridge, said the organisation is delighted to support this landmark exhibition.
“Ken Done’s work is bold, inspiring, and full of creativity – values that reflect what we do at TAFE Queensland. Just as Ken encourages us to break the rules and explore new possibilities, we empower learners to develop their skills, follow their passions, and pursue their goals,” he said.
“Our involvement goes beyond sponsorship. It allows our students, teachers and staff to experience the creative process up close, sparking inspiration that can be applied across education, careers, and personal development.”
“This partnership also reflects TAFE Queensland’s mission to empower people at every stage of their journey. From those just starting out, to career changers and lifelong learners, the organisation is committed to helping individuals realise their potential and embrace new possibilities,” said Mr Petherbridge.
This partnership highlights TAFE Queensland’s role as the region’s leading vocational education provider and demonstrates its ongoing commitment to creativity, innovation, and community engagement.
The exhibition spans more than four decades of Done’s work and features over 90 paintings along with a captivating animation of some of Done’s most recognisable paintings, fashion collaborations with Australian fashion duo Romance was Born, and immersive experiences, creating a kaleidoscope of colour and energy.
The Ken Done: No Rules exhibition runs until 15 February 2026 at the HOTA Galley, offering visitors a chance to experience the vibrancy, optimism, and joy that have made Ken Done’s work beloved across generations.
TAFE Queensland Gold Coast is proud to play a part in bringing this celebration of Australian creativity to the region.
