Megan embraces Student Voice Ambassadorship

Meg became a Student Voice Ambassador to bring to life the enhancements she would love to see at TAFE Queensland, particularly through creating a community atmosphere for students.

Megan Shewaga is completing her Certificate III in Cabinetmaking and Timber Technology (MSF30322) at TAFE Queensland's Acacia Ridge campus and is a Student Voice Ambassador for 2025.

Passionate about her study area and also about enhancing the community feel around campus, Megan got involved in the Student Voice initiative to support projects around her campus including a new and updated Student Lounge.

"When we come to TAFE, the facilities and the teachers are amazing, but it would be great to have more of a community feel around the campus," Ms Shewaga said.

"As a Student Voice Ambassador, I'm excited to engage with other students and see what they would want around campus and how the Student Voice representatives can work for them."

"There is a new Student Lounge being worked on at this campus, so we're looking to get some feedback while the work is happening on that room from other students about what would be good to have in there," she said.

Alongside her Student Voice commitments, Megan is working diligently in her studies - hoping to gain skills that will support her dream career in campervan customisation.

"My end goal is to start a business doing custom campervan conversions and renovating old caravans. I want to make beautiful, highly functional spaces that can make people feel at home on the road," she said.
