About the program
The Aquaculture and Agriculture Tech Skills Hub is jointly funded by the Australian Government under the Regional Recovery Partnerships, Greater Whitsunday Alliance (GW3) and Regional Development Australia, and is being delivered in partnership with the Queensland Government, TAFE Queensland and Central Queensland University Australia to support existing plans and priorities within the region.
The partnership has been working with industry experts, community organisations and government since early 2022 to establish and support new ways of attracting, skilling, upskilling, retaining and growing local workforces through the identification of a broad suite of new and updated skills and workforce programs.
The implementation of pilot programs will enable a range of cohorts, particularly in regional locations, to acquire new skills. TAFE Queensland and CQUniversity as education partners, are seeking expressions of interest to participate in training, at no cost to participants.
Delivery dates and modes will be dependent on the review and award of EOI applications. Placements will be determined through the Aquaculture and Agriculture Tech Skills Hub Management Committee.
Micro-credentials are non-accredited training programs.
- A suite of three micro-credentials delivered via TAFE Queensland’s Learning Management System.
- All micro-credentials are self-paced and will take 2–3 hours to complete per micro-credential.
Approach dependent on the geographic location or pilot participants and organisational preference.
This micro-credential is a guide to understanding workplace relationships and interaction within the agriculture/aquaculture industries, including effective communication principles, inclusive communication, communication styles and using effective questioning techniques.
This micro-credential includes techniques on relationship management, team culture and identifying and overcoming conflict within the workplace all to assist with developing a positive and productive workplace.
The micro-credential aims to improve work practices, knowledge and skills. You will study the following topics:
- Understanding interactions in the workplace
- Principles of communications
- Relationship management
- Team culture
- Overcoming conflict in the workplace.
This micro-credential explains how understanding job expectations, professional conduct, goal setting, and planning and prioritising tasks contributes to an effective work environment. It also covers the importance of understanding industry codes and legislation, and how clear and inclusive communication and teamwork improves efficiency and productivity.
The micro-credential aims to improve work practices, knowledge and skills by:
- Identifying role requirements
- Improving the quality of work
- Understanding effective and inclusive communication
- Understanding how to work within a team environment
- Setting and achieving goals
- Identifying priorities and developing schedules.
This micro-credential provides an introduction to safe work practices, it covers the importance of workplace and healthy safety procedures, hazard identification and risk controls, and how safety is applied in industry, terminologies, roles and responsibilities.
This micro credential will provide an overview of:
- Work health and safety (WHS) procedures
- Hazards, potential consequences and risk controls
- Personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Emergency situations and responses.
