TAFE Queensland is proud to be the Official Training Provider of the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys, through to the end of 2026.

Match Day

On Saturday, 12 July, TAFE Queensland hosted the Cowboys Match Day, where we took the field as match day presenting partner. The stadium was a sea of red – from the Kick-Off Cards challenge, where attendees collected stamps at five TAFE Queensland stalls (hospitality, hair and beauty, community and health, and trades), to the Chill and Charge Zone where fans entered to win a signed Cowboys jersey and prize pack.

The halftime activation was a highlight, with a music set, fireworks, and giant inflatable balls bouncing through the crowd – creating a fun and unforgettable moment that drew eyes to the TAFE Queensland brand.

These events are more than just fun – they’re a strategic way to:

Connect with future students and their families,
Showcase our hands-on training to the public, and
Build local pride and confidence in vocational education.

Cowboys players visit to Cairns campus

On Friday, 14 February 2025, North Queensland Toyota Cowboys players Sam McIntyre and Jordan McLean visited TAFE Queensland’s Cairns campus for a special Cowboys on Campus event. Around 200 attendees, including students and community members, had the opportunity to meet the players, take photos, and collect autographs. The event also featured interactive displays from Hospitality, Cookery, Engineering, Healthcare, and First Aid students and educators.

Register your interest - Diploma of Leadership and Management (BSB50420)

In partnership with the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys, TAFE Queensland is helping advance careers in leadership and management through the delivery of Diploma of Leadership and Management (BSB50420).

Kicking off in Semester 1, 2026 a training delivery will combine online and face-to-face training right from the Cowboys HQ at The Hutchinson Builders Centre in Townsville.

Throughout this course students will be mentored in team leadership and management, discover how to utilise emotional intelligence to maximise team outcomes, and learn how to develop and implement an operational plan to facilitate effective workplace practices.

Our highly experienced team of industry leaders along with guest speakers from the North Queensland Cowboys will give students the guidance needed to succeed in their studies and beyond.

Try Time!

TAFE Queensland is the presenting partner of the "Respectful Relationships" module of Try Time!, delivered to students in years 10, 11 and 12 in schools across Townsville, Burdekin, Charters Towers and Ingham regions.

This partnership will also provide TAFE Queensland the ability to promote courses to all schools involved in Try Time! and the North Queensland Academy members.

Dream, Believe, Achieve

Dream, Believe, Achieve is the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys' award winning training and employment program that delivers education, training and industry-recognised qualifications to unemployed and disadvantaged North Queenslanders.

It provides mentoring support to assist students in completing their studies and achieving their career goals.

The Dream, Believe, Achieve hospitality program is funded and supported by the Queensland Government through its Skilling Queenslands for Work initiative and is available to eligible participants at no cost.

In 2024, the program will be expanded into the construction and engineering domain with plans underway for TAFE Queensland to deliver the formal training to participants.
