Enrolment Conditions apply for students under 18 years of age
Traineeship pathway
You must be registered as a trainee with an Australian Apprenticeship Centre throughout the duration of the traineeship and maintain employment within the industry. (Meeting ERA requirements).
Trainees should consider their ability to perform physical tasks when entering this industry.
It is recommended that you have access to a reliable internet connection to access TAFE Queensland's online learning system Connect and a computer with up-to-date software, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat Reader. This equipment and software is available for use at all TAFE Queensland locations.
You will also be required to bring the following:
Work Experience
As part of this diploma qualification, you may have the opportunity to participate in industry-relevant work experience placements. These placements are designed to enhance practical skills and provide valuable insights into real-world professional environments.
Please note: eligibility for work experience is contingent upon you demonstrating satisfactory academic progress throughout the course.
While this course is based at Mount Gravatt campus, please note that classes and associated activities for the following units will take place at the South Bank campus. You will be required to attend South Bank campus 1 day per week.
The nature of this course involves working in a team as a crew member. You will be working with equipment and cabling used for audio, lighting, vision systems and staging. You may be required to assist with moving, setting up and packing down this equipment.
This qualification has been replaced by CUA30425 Certificate III in Live Production and Technical Services as of 13 August 2025. A transition period applies to enable current students to complete their study. The transition period finishes on 11 August 2026.
Skill and knowledge assessments are an essential step in progressing through your course. You may be assessed in a number of ways while you are studying at TAFE Queensland, including observation, written assessment, questioning, portfolios, work samples, third-party feedback, and through recognition of prior learning.
