Course overview

The Certificate of Proficiency (CoP) Rating Continued Competence Refresher Training is designed for holders of an AMSA issued Certificate of Proficiency as Rating (Integrated Rating, Able Seaman, Deck Rating or Engine Room Rating) and meets the mandatory Sea Survival and Fire Fighting continued competency requirements for current Seafarers with qualifying sea service.

This course covers the relevant refresher competencies from the STCW short courses, Certificate of Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other an Fast Rescue Boats (CPSC) and Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting.

Note: All continued competence refresher courses are valid for up to 5 years and may be used once for revalidation purposes.

Covers relevant components of:

  • Personal Survival Techniques (STCW Table A-VI/1-1)
  • Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting (STCW Table A-VI/1-2)
  • Certificate of Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other than Fast Rescue Boats (STCW Table A-VI/2-1)
