Course overview

The Certificate of Competency (CoC) Continued Competence Refresher Training meets the continued competency requirements for holders of an AMSA‑issued Certificate of Competency (Master, Deck and Engineer Officers), as well as the Certificate of Proficiency as a Chief Integrated Rating.

The course satisfies the mandatory Sea Survival and Fire Fighting continued competency requirements for current seafarers with qualifying sea service.

This course also covers the relevant refresher competencies from the STCW short courses, Certificate of Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other than Fast Rescue Boats (also known as CPSC or PSCRB) and Advanced Fire Fighting.

The course may also be suitable for seafarers holding international certificates who require refresher training aligned to STCW continued competence outcomes, including those not currently operating on Australian‑flagged vessels or who have not yet completed AMSA revalidation processes. You are responsible for confirming that this training meets the continued competence or revalidation requirements of the maritime regulatory authority under which you are certified or operating.

  • Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting – STCW Table A-VI/1-2
