Begin your career with this entry-level course. Get qualified to work in outdoor recreation and be an assistant to your chosen unit pathway or upskill for further study. According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics there are over 65,000 people employed in the sport, fitness and recreation industry. Live every day like an adventure with a unique career in this exciting industry.

You will learn how to assist with and conduct a range of outdoor activities. You will also develop an understanding of working in a variety of outdoor recreation environments, minimising environmental impacts, and following occupational health and safety procedures. Our supportive teachers are here to help you every step of the way to set you up for future success. 

Successful completion of this course will qualify you to work as an outdoor recreation assistant in bushwalking, rock climbing or water craft activities. It will also set you up to proceed with further study options.

Once approved you will be emailed information from Brisbane, Schools.

Resources required

You are responsible for meeting the minimum standard of dress. This includes having access to and wearing appropriate general fitness attire and enclosed shoes. You may be required to purchase TAFE Queensland branded uniform items. The purchase of these uniform items may incur additional costs.
