Our comprehensive skill set offers a universal foundation for individuals entering the industry, equipping them with the essential knowledge and skills needed for language-specific transfer training. Participants will delve into foundational generic skills in interpreting, gaining a solid grasp of interpretation techniques and practices. Additionally, the course provides a fundamental understanding of the industry, ensuring participants are well-versed in its key aspects.
By successfully completing the units within this skill set, participants not only enhance their capabilities but also earn credit towards PSP50922 Diploma of Interpreting.

An individual interview will also be required for all applicants.
It is recommended that you have access to a reliable internet connection to access TAFE Queensland's online learning system Connect, and a computer with up-to-date software, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat Reader. This equipment and software is available for use at all TAFE Queensland locations.
You will be provided with a recommended reading list and/or required textbooks during orientation or at the start of each unit. The purchase of these resources may incur additional costs up the value of $40 or you may be able to borrow them from the TAFE Queensland library network.
If you want to go on to further study at university, TAFE Queensland has a pathway option to get you there. In many cases, completing one of our diplomas may give you a full year of credit towards a degree with one of our partner universities.
