You are responsible for meeting the minimum occupational health and safety requirements in practical classes.
Workwear and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required may include:
- Protective clothing - long cotton drill industry-standard clothing
- Eye protection – safety glasses must comply with AS1338
- Protective footwear - safety toe, leather upper, non-slip soles must comply with AS2210
- Leather gloves
- Hair protection - peak cap with a snood capable of fully containing hair
- If you are required to undertake activities that produce welding fumes you will be required to use P2 moulded half-face respirators, or alternative RPE of equal or higher protection
If you fail to meet these minimum standards of dress, you will not be permitted entry into practical classes.
It is recommended that you have access to a reliable internet connection to access TAFE Queensland’s online learning system Connect, and a computer with up-to-date software, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat Reader. This equipment and software is available for use at all TAFE Queensland locations.
