Entry requirements

Selection criteria

To enrol into this skill set you must be 21 years of age or older and have a nominated sporting or similar high-performance organisation (paid or unpaid) with which you can engage for the duration of the course (e.g., athlete/coach and a stakeholder).

You must meet at least two of:

  • Completed relevant qualifications, such as:
    • Certificate II or higher in Sport, Fitness and Recreation
    • Certificate IV in Career Development
    • Certificate II or higher in Counselling
  • At least 12 months’ employment as an athlete welfare/wellbeing manager or in a similar role
  • Comparable work/life experience
    High-level language, literacy and numeracy skills sufficient to:
    • Participate in online seminars
    • Complete self-directed study and assignments
    • Develop athlete wellbeing plans
    • Complete end-of-course assessment
    • (Minimum ACSF Level 3)

Resources required

It is recommended that you have access to a reliable internet connection to access TAFE Queensland's online learning system Connect, and a computer with up-to-date software, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat Reader. This equipment and software is available for use at all TAFE Queensland locations.

You will also require access to:

  • a Microsoft Windows 10 or 11 Operating System laptop or PC
  • a portable Hard Drive preferably a 500 Gigabyte Solid State Drive (SSD)
  • headphones and suitable webcam
  • to a sporting organisation for project-based tasks
