Ramsay Health Care Partnership Program

TAFE Queensland has partnered with Ramsay Health Care, Australia’s largest private hospital operator and one of the top five private hospital operators in the world giving you a unique opportunity to study the Diploma of Nursing (HLT54115) online.

When you choose to study Nursing online you will benefit from a combination of online theoretical study, hands-on practical training during Residential School and organised vocational placement within the Ramsay Health Care network.

Online study gives you the added flexibility you may need to complete your qualification in your own time, at your own pace. TAFE Queensland students have free access to the online, after hours support service, Studiosity. Through Studiosity, you can chat online to expert tutors who can help you with your studies, writing, research and referencing. Once enrolled, you will be given instructions on how to access this service.

In conjunction with the online theoretical study, students will attend Residential School in industry leading, state-of-the art nursing labs. Residential School is where practical skills are taught and developed in a simulated environment. Practical skills are presented and assessed at three mandatory residential schools (one per semester). Semester 1 and Semester 2 requires attendance for 2 weeks at a time. Semester 3 requires attendance for one week.

Finally, students will gain a minimum of 400 hours clinical placement experience within a Ramsay Health Care facility. Students will leave TAFE Queensland with experience in health-related nursing care in a variety of contexts including medical and surgical, rehabilitation, mental health and aged care.

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be eligible to apply for registration with the AHPRA Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as an Enrolled Nurse.
