The health sector is growing in Australia with four out of five nursing graduates gaining employment within three months of graduation. When you study nursing with TAFE Queensland you'll have access to purpose-built training facilities, experienced teachers, and vocational placement opportunities. After just 18 months you'll be fully qualified in nursing care, patient health analysis and administration, and monitoring medications.
As a TAFE Queensland nursing student you'll study in our clinical labs equipped with electric beds, vital signs monitors, ECG machines, IV trolleys and responsive computerised simulator manikins. Our learning environments will prepare you for real-world situations while under the instruction and supervision of industry professionals.
Our Diploma of Nursing (HLT54115) will qualify you to work as an enrolled nurse within a diverse range of healthcare settings. Or take your nursing skills to the next level with our Advanced Diploma of Nursing and specialise in areas such as aged care, emergency care, community health, critical care, mental health, perioperative, or renal care. Successful completion of our nursing courses will qualify you to seek registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. You may also be eligible for up to one year of credit towards a Bachelor of Nursing, which is the minimum requirement to work as a registered nurse.
