School Holiday Workshops 2025

Thinking about future study but not sure what you want to do? Or just looking for something fun to do during the school holidays? TAFE Queensland is hosting a series of workshops to give high school students a taste of what TAFE Queensland has to offer.

  • This is an outdoor activity
  • Water activities are always subject to weather suitability on the day.

Sports and fitness

  • Requirements: Students are requested to wear sports active attire and sports shoes. A change of clothes is recommended. 

What happens on the day?

On the day

  •  Meet at the marquee in the centre of your chosen campus 15 minutes before your workshop starts (that's 8.45 am!). Your teacher will collect you from there.
  •  If you are sick and can't attend, please contact us on 0436 411 230.

What to bring

  • Don’t forget your packed lunch, snacks and your water bottle. You will get a break for morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea but you won’t be allowed off campus to purchase any meals.
  • A notepad and pen.
  • A USB stick in case you need to save any digital files.
  • Any personal equipment such as Asthma puffers or an EpiPen.
  • Enthusiasm and happiness galore!

What to wear

  • Please wear comfortable casual clothes. You do not need to wear your school uniform.
  • You must wear enclosed shoes.
  • Be respectful with your clothing. No swear words, or inappropriate slogans. (If your clothing is considered offensive to others you may be asked to leave.)
  • For those doing Baking and Cookery, please wear long pants.

What if I am sick or running late?

  •  Students who cannot attend on the day will contact the TAFE Queensland events team on 0436 411 230.
  • Any students who do not attend within 30 minutes after the start of the workshop will have their parent/guardian contacted.

THE LEGAL STUFF

  • Student registration closes at 11.30pm (AEST) on Tuesday 17 June 2025 unless sold out.
  • Payments must be made at the time of purchase via Credit Card.

  • Students who cannot attend on the day will contact the TAFE Queensland events team on 0436 411 230.
  • Any students who do not attend within 30 minutes after the start of the workshop will have their parent/guardian contacted.
  • Approval of all refunds is at the discretion of TAFE Queensland. Claims are to be sent to events.brisbane@tafeqld.edu.au for assessment.
  • Each claim will be assessed on a case-by-case basis and will require supporting documentation such as a medical certificate.
  • No general refunds or cancellations requests, without supporting documentation attached will be accepted after sales close at 11.30pm (AEST) on Tuesday 17 June 2025.

What You Need to Know

As a TAFE Queensland School Holiday Program student, students have a responsibility to:

  • Treat others with courtesy, respect and fairness;
  • Respect the safety, well-being and property of others;
  • Refrain from behaviour that may be perceived as unsafe, intimidating, discriminating, harassing, bullying or disruptive to others;
  • Respect TAFE Queensland resources and facilities;
  • Use computing and electronic resources appropriately;
  • Bring along any required health items such as EpiPens, medications etc.

Student Misconduct

In the case of serious misconduct, a parent/guardian will be contacted at once and asked to pick up the student from campus within a reasonable timeframe.
