How to get library help online
Can’t get to a campus for help with the Library? Don’t worry, you don’t have to! The TAFE Queensland Library website has a wealth of help and resources.
From your couch to the beach, the back paddock to a fabulous holiday destination, as long as you have an internet connection you can access all the help and support you need.
Here's the breakdown on all things library.
Virtual library sessions
Get off to the best start possible with our series of virtual library sessions. These classes are open to all students and will show you how to:
- access the Library's collection of more than 100 million resources
- research more effectively
- reference more efficiently
- get more from subject specific resources like ClinicalKey and Australian Standards.
Library Live Chat
The Library has recently rolled out Library Live Chat. Library Live Chat is a web based chat tool you can use to get help with all things library, including help with researching and referencing. The chat service operates from 10am to 2pm Monday through Friday during term time.
Ask a Librarian
You can use the Ask a Librarian service to search our frequently asked question (FAQ) database and quickly learn about library opening hours, services and support.
Couldn’t find the answer to your question? No worries, use Ask a Librarian to email your query to the library team and they'll be in touch within 24 hours (excluding weekends).
Just look for the blue search box on the library website home page.
How-to videos
We know that sometimes the Library can seem a little confusing. That's why we’ve developed a suite of how-to videos that will help you with common tasks such as completing a basic search, accessing and using the library databases, and referencing correctly.
Subject guides
Our subject guides bring together all the best information and resources for your subject area. Use our subject guides, found on the left of the library website homepage, to find books, ebooks, databases and other resources that will help you get your studies off to a great start.
