International Education and Training Award win

TAFE Queensland has won the International Education and Training category at the 2023 Premier of Queensland’s Export Awards.

Now in its 33rd year, the Export Awards shines a spotlight on the innovation, resilience and determination of Queensland's top businesses as they grow and expand their global footprints.

At the event, TAFE Queensland took home the International Education and Training Award, recognised for the quality educational experience it provides to more than 7,000 international students a year from over 90 countries.

TAFE Queensland International Education General Manager Russell Mckay said the win highlights the organisation's reputation as an innovative and progressive global education provider.

"Along with training international students in Australia, TAFE Queensland has established very strong partnerships offshore," Mr Mckay said.

"In the last year, TAFE Queensland has delivered innovative training to students in China, Fiji, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, Timor Leste, Panama and Iran - just to name a few."

"We are dedicated to helping our students succeed, and are proud that TAFE Queensland's training helps international students studying in Australia and overseas achieve their training and career goals."

Mr Mckay said TAFE Queensland is committed to strengthening its global partnerships and networks.

"TAFE Queensland is internationally recognised for responding to the education and training needs of businesses, governments and other stakeholders around the world that are in need of customised programs."

"We work with over 200 international education agents to promote our courses offshore and enrol international students."

"TAFE Queensland’s diversification strategy focuses on sustainability and growth, and we are investigating expanding our training to even more countries, including Saudi Arabia."

"We are proud to contribute to Queensland’s education industry through the export of our services and expertise, and we are excited to represent Queensland at the 2023 Australian Export Awards in Canberra."
