World leaders in new-energy education partner with TAFE Queensland

Horizon Educational have partnered with TAFE Queensland to provide world-leading educational equipment to TAFE Queensland students.

The world’s largest producer and distributor of hydrogen educational equipment – including STEM Kits and Hydrogen Grand Prix race cars – Horizon Educational, have partnered with TAFE Queensland to ensure Queensland’s future energy workforce has access to relevant and class-leading training equipment.

TAFE Queensland will benefit from equipment and insight from Horizon Educational.

The partnership will allow TAFE Queensland to access Horizon Educational’s world-leading hydrogen training equipment to continue providing quality training to Queenslanders in emerging industries. TAFE Queensland is the largest training provider in the Sunshine State and has been at the forefront of training innovation across its 140 year history.

After visiting TAFE Queensland’s flagship trade training facility in Acacia Ridge, Horizon Educational’s Director of the Australia Pacific region Ales Rakovsky said the organisations were a perfect match given their commitments to supplying class-leading facilities and education.

“Horizon Educational is thrilled to work closely with TAFE Queensland to continue course development in the hydrogen sector,” Mr Rakovsky said.

“TAFE Queensland shares our goal of boosting workforce development in renewable energy, and together we will be able to provide even more students with pioneering hydrogen training courses and equipment,” he said.

A/General Manager of TAFE Queensland – SkillsTech Stephen Gates was on hand to meet with Mr Rakovsky and sign the Memorandum of Understanding between the two leading educational organisations. He said the partnership highlighted the provider’s commitment to innovation and providing industries with training solutions for today and tomorrow.

“At TAFE Queensland, we are focussed on not only providing industries with highly skilled workers for now, but also long into the future. Renewable energy is an important emerging industry for Queensland’s energy sector and we are thrilled to form an alliance with a true class-leader in Horizon Educational to secure the best training equipment for our students,” Mr Gates said.

After a decade of producing miniature fuel cells that demonstrated the new-age technology to students around the world, in 2013 Horizon Educational Group was formed as an independent division dedicated to the deployment of a complete range of educational solutions.

Horizon Educational develop, produce and distribute hands-on teaching material and didactic equipment as well as online curricula and educational programs. With distributors in over 150 countries, the STEM kits and technical training equipment have an international reputation for quality, educational content and award-winning design.

TAFE Queensland will predominantly use the supplier’s STEAM products, Hydrogen RC cars, and Renewables model systems to educate students ranging from TAFE At School to Apprentices in the foundation knowledge of new, green energy sources.

TAFE Queensland is proud to be the market leader for Vocational Education and Training (VET) in Queensland, working with Government and industry to develop the critical training needed to support Queensland's future workforces and economy. Funded by the Queensland Government’s VET Emerging Industries initiative, which sees $15 million invested in new skills and training strategies across identified emerging industry needs in the manufacturing, energy, agribusiness, and screen and digital sectors, this partnership is a clear demonstration of how TAFE Queensland is connecting Queenslanders with the skills they need for the future.
