Course overview

Embark upon a career as a hairdressing assistant with this pre-apprenticeship qualification. This course will give you the basic skills employers are looking for to establish a career as a salon assistant.

According to the Australian Government's Job Outlook service, hairdressing skills are in demand with employers finding it hard to fill vacancies. The industry is currently experiencing strong growth with more than 31,000 job openings expected over the next five years.

Our exceptional teaching teams maintain strong industry connections and keep up to date with the latest trends and styles. They are dedicated to passing on the basic knowledge and entry-level skills to help you build your career and progress on to further study. You'll learn how to greet and prepare clients for salon services, communication as part of a salon team, and how to perform basic salon duties like providing shampoo and basin services.

With this qualification you will have a better understanding of the industry and be well situated to enhance your skills through further study or an apprenticeship. Give yourself a competitive edge by learning how to break ground in a new career as a salon assistant.
