Course overview

The travel photography course is for those who want to take the kind of photographs seen in travel brochures and magazines. To do this, you need to learn how to see your subject through a photographer’s eye. This course will introduce you to the many types of travel photography – landscapes, nature, portraits and documentary. You will gain confidence in using the equipment needed to take wonderful photos on location

Throughout the course, you will be challenged to complete a series of photo tasks that will be reviewed and evaluated by your teacher, a professional ... photographer with years’ experience. On completion of the course, you will have a folio of high-quality photos and the skills required to create wonderful memories of your travels.

What you will earn

On successful completion of the Travel Photography course, students will be able to:

  • Demonstrate skill in shooting landscapes, nature, portraits and documentary.

  • Have an understanding of the equipment needed to take photographs in a variety of scenarios.

  • Use travel photography techniques to document travels and create professional looking images.

  • Have an understanding of composition, lighting and exposure.

  • Know about post production processes of archiving, importing, editing, and displaying your work

At TAFE Queensland you'll study in our industry-standard photography studios equipped with the latest equipment and creative imaging software, You will have the opportunity to participate in a location shoot to gain real world experience under the guidance of qualified industry professionals

Practical Hands On

Face to face instruction, small class size, fully equipped studio and digital imaging lab practical photography location session.
