Get a qualification that could potentially save lives - the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) is a worldwide network used by search and rescue authorities ashore, as well as ships in the immediate vicinity of ships in distress.
This course covers the requirements of the STCW Reg IV/2. Individuals holding the Certificate are rapidly alerted to distress incidents, so they can assist in a co-ordinated search and rescue operation with the minimum of delay.
Participants in the GMDSS (GOC) will receive training in the use of digital selective calling techniques for communication using MF, HF and VHF radiotelephone, HF radio telex and satellite communication using INMARSAT-C ship earth stations.
