Selection criteria
Entry into this course is available via commercial/corporate arrangements only. There are no scheduled campus dates, as training and assessment is delivered on-site in the workplace.
Due to legislation, to be assessed for this qualification, you are also required to be over the age of 18 and that you have sound literacy and numeracy skills.
Resources required
Students will require:
- You will require access to a Elevating Work Platform (boom length 11 metres or more (and appropriate supervision). The Elevating Work Platform (boom length 11 metres or more must be safe to operate and comply with the relevant legislation.
You will also require:

Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as per site requirements (Eg long sleeve Hi-Visibility shirt, long trousers, safety footwear, helmet, gloves and safety glasses.)

Personal stationery (pens and paper)

3 forms of Identification (Eg . Current Driver's Licence, Passport, Medicare Card, High Risk Licence (required on assessment day)
Students will be provided with:
- Learning materials
- A log-book with a training plan
- Assessment materials

Following the successful completion of their assessment, students will be issued with an Assessment Summary (AS1) form. Students are required to create a QGov account then submit their AS1 form online at WorkSafe Qld.
Please note that the application must be lodged within 60 days of successfully completing the practical assessment and that an application fee is payable. Following lodgement, enquiries regarding your application should be directed to WorkSafe Qld (https://www.worksafe.qld.gov.au/)

TAFE Queensland also delivers training for the operation of a EWP - scissor lift and under 11m boom lift which does not require a High Risk Work Licence.
