Free up your creativity, while tuning in to fun mixed media activities. In this course, you have the opportunity to explore mixed media on paper with drawing, painting and collage. You will be invited to explore colour, line, gesture, texture, layering, patterning with graphite, charcoal, ink, acrylic paint and collage. The course will cover subjects of still life, life drawing the human figure, and landscape in mixed media.
You will be guided to connect with your creative impulse, let go of pre-conceived ideas about how an artwork should look, or whether it’s ‘good enough’. Art is literally at your fingertips. Discover new ways of seeing and creative expression.

Kerry’s educational approach is grounded in a belief that creativity flows within everyone and begins with mark making. She teaches you to embrace an intuitive approach to exploring visual arts.
The course is open to people at all levels of skill or experience. All materials are included. The focus is on creative confidence and enjoyment. It is an opportunity to free up, tap into the power of creativity and discover just how liberating art making can be.
Week 1 - Still life: Visual dialogue - create a series of mixed media work on paper; developing visual poetry and exploring collage, colour and composition.
Week 2 - Still life: Realism to Abstraction - taking realistic subjects, discover ways of abstracting for personal, symbolic meaning and visual appeal.
Week 3 - Life Drawing with a nude model. Drawing the human figure from life; engaging in mixed media exercises and drawing games.
Week 4 - Layering the landscape: build a landscape through layering techniques with collage and mixed media.
Week 5 - Invent a landscape: build a landscape through mark making and mixed media.
