Course overview

Free up your creativity, while tuning in to mixed media play and fun. In this 6 week course, you have the opportunity to explore the visual qualities of materials and processes of drawing, painting and collage. You will be invited to play with colour, paint, line, gesture, texture, layering and patterning to awaken the delight of artmaking. You might scribble with energy in oil pastels, meander lightly with ink, rip and reassemble paper or drip droplets of thick gesso onto paper .

Three life drawing sessions will be followed by three themed mixed media sessions.

You will be guided to connect with your creative impulse, let go of pre-conceived ideas about how an artwork should look, or whether it’s ‘good enough’. Art is literally at your fingertips. Discover ways of seeing and creating expression. If you have always wanted to draw, you will see how easy it is to start.

Experienced artists will find these classes provide fresh approaches and expand their practice. Kerry’s educational approach is grounded in a belief that creativity flows within everyone and begins with mark making. She teaches you to embrace an intuitive approach to exploring visual arts.

The course is open to people at all levels of skill or experience. The focus is on creative confidence and enjoyment. It is an opportunity to free up, tap into the power of creative play and discover just how liberating art making can be.
