Selection criteria
- Successful completion of Australian Year 12 or equivalent
- Existing digital skills – Microsoft office suite
- Existing volunteer or work experience preferred
- Ability to record videos
Resources required
You are responsible for meeting the minimum standard of dress. This includes having access to and wearing appropriate general fitness attire and enclosed shoes. You may be required to purchase TAFE Queensland branded uniform items. The purchase of these uniform items may incur additional costs. More details will be provided after enrolment or during orientation.
You will be provided with a recommended reading list and/or required textbooks during orientation or at the start of each unit. The purchase of these resources may incur additional costs or you may be able to borrow them from the TAFE Queensland library network.
It is recommended that you have access to a reliable internet connection to access TAFE Queensland's online learning system Connect, and a computer with up-to-date software, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat Reader. This equipment and software is available for use at all TAFE Queensland locations.
Placement
If you are not currently employed or volunteering in industry, during your course you will be required to complete vocational placement so you can start practising your new skills in a real-world environment. You’ll be required to work shifts determined by your placement provider, and these can include early mornings or late nights, any day of the week, including public holidays. TAFE Queensland may be able to assist in arranging suitable placements.
Completing placement is compulsory, and you will be expected to manage family and work commitments in order to complete your shifts. You are required to complete up to 100 hours of placement to satisfy this component of your qualification.
Blue Card
To successfully satisfy all course requirements you will be required to apply for a Blue Card (Working with Children check).

Additional activities included in this program include:
- 100 hours of work-based placement within the relevant industry partner’s organisation.
- Exposure to the relevant industry partners organisation operations, fan engagement, membership operations, community engagement, marketing and media communications, events, clinics and more.
- Guest presentations from the relevant industry partners organisations staff, coaches, and players
- Networking opportunities with staff at the relevant industry partner’s organisation.
Location and timetable
- Face-to-face classes for 2 days a week are held at the industry partners’ headquarters.
Brisbane Broncos – The Clive Berghofer Centre, in Red Hill
Gold Coast Suns - Austworld Centre, 296 Nerang Broadbeach Rd, Carrara QLD 4211
- Virtual classes or self-directed time for approximately 6 hours per week. Prep reading and assessment completion for approximately 8 hours per week.
