Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

Selection criteria

TAFE Queensland Gold Coast requires the following entry requirements to be met:    Completed Year 10 or equivalent with sound achievement in English  Mature age with sound language, literacy, and numeracy skills  Permanent resident of Australia.  Access to the internet and have an email account  To access Certificate 3 Guarantee funding for this course the prospective student must meet all the subsidy eligibility  Further funding incentives apply to this course.  Please speak with a Customer Service Consultant on (07) 5581 8300 to check your eligibility.

Resources required

South west TAFE:  Any uniform and Personal Protective Eloment requirements as per the employer.

 

TAFE Queensland Gold Coast: There is a set uniform to be purchased.  A representative from our supplier Totally Workwear will be available at Orientation for you to be fitted, order and make payment. If you do not attend the Orientation day, you will be responsible for making your own arrangements directly with the supplier Totally Workwear within seven days of the scheduled Orientation day.  Students will be required to purchase two shirts with the TAFE logo. 

The options are:  one compulsory black business shirt with TAFE logo (from Totally Workwear).  Approximate cost is $48.00 per shirt and; 

one compulsory black polo with TAFE logo (from Totally Workwear).  Approximate cost is $25.00 per shirt.  This polo shirt is to be used for pre-event setup only.  

or    two compulsory black business shirts with TAFE logo (from Totally Workwear).  Approximate cost is $48.00 per shirt    

Black business style pants (male and female) (leggings and/or tights will not be accepted) or a black knee length business style skirt. These can be purchased from your preferred outlet or through our supplier Totally Workwear.  Black enclosed leather non-slip shoes.   

Need to know

TAFE Qld East Coast:  Students must have access to a workplace where they are able to volunteer at events in accordance to the assessment requirements for this qualification.  *Please note: additional restrictions or eligibility criteria may apply.  Students MUST attend all four, 3-4 day workshops at TAFE Qld East Coast's Mooloolaba campus throughout the year (early starts, nights, weekends).  To complete the assessment requirements they will be required to work in a hands-on, practical environment at four planned events (refer to timetable) and require their own transport to attend the events. The majority of the course content and assessments will be accessed online with theory workshops at the TAFE Qld East Coast's Mooloolaba campus on the four occasions. 

 

South West TAFE: You may be required to undertake work experience at both on-site and off-site events, organised by your trainer.
