Course overview

This course complies with Marine Orders Part 70 – Seafarer Certification – Provision 21A and 21B, where requirements for revalidation of a GMDSS General Operators Certificate (GOC) specify completion of an approved revalidation course and relevant competencies from STCW Table A-IV/2.

Successful applications will be entitled to apply for renewal of their Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) GMDSS (GOC).

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

Selection criteria

You must have previously held a GMDSS General Operators Certificate.

Resources required

You will need to supply the following items at your own cost:

  • Revalidation fee to AMSA of $112 and one current passport photo.
  • A notebook and pen are required for theory components.

Attire is to be of current industry standard with enclosed footwear to be worn at all times.
