Course overview

Develop your knowledge in the water industry and learn specialist skills to monitor, operate and maintain wastewater treatment operations. 

The Australian Government's Job Outlook service predicts this growing industry will have up to 10,000 job openings over the next five years. 

In this course you will learn how to carry out and test waste water samples, as well as operate and control various processes of wastewater treatment. The course also covers risk management principles of the water industry standards, guidelines and legislation. 

Successful completion of this course will enable you to seek employment in wastewater treatment operations in roles such as water services officer or water industry maintenance officer.

While there are no formal entry requirements for this course, TAFE Queensland requires you to already be employed in the industry as or ready to enrol as an apprentice or trainee.

It is assumed that you will be receiving appropriate structured on-the-job training while undertaking this qualification.
