Keep it cool with a new qualification in 2024
How you can enhance your automotive career this year with a fast-tracked qualification in automotive air-conditioning.
For experienced members of the light and heavy automotive industries TAFE Queensland offers a fast-tracked delivery of the Certificate II in Automotive Air Conditioning Technology (AUR20220) at campuses across the state, providing skills necessary to obtain an Automotive Air Conditioning Licence.
Thanks to TAFE Queensland’s RPL and Credit Transfer programs, experienced industry members will only be trained in units specific to Air Conditioning skills in a fast-tracked delivery model between three and five days in length, making it an efficient way to further your automotive career in 2024.
Additional qualifications can be a boost for technicians at any stage of their career and for businesses who support their staff through the training, opening the business up to greater productivity and broader scope of work.
Business Manager of Heavy Automotive Training at TAFE Queensland’s flagship Acacia Ridge campus, David Jenkinson, said that continued learning is essential for technicians in today’s landscape, and that broadening skills and expanding knowledge is a key to thriving across the length of your career.
“Having an apprenticeship qualification is really the base of your learning in the automotive industry, both in the light and heavy sectors. Especially given how much the automotive landscape is constantly changing, it is important to be expanding on your skills throughout your career,” Mr Jenkinson said.
“Gaining a sought-after skill such as Air Conditioning through a fast-tracked delivery with TAFE Queensland is a great way to expand your career options in 2024, and there are many other courses on offer to deliver essential skills to experienced industry members also.”
“For technicians and businesses focussed on the future, TAFE Queensland offers an EV Skill Set at no cost to eligible Queenslanders under the Australian and Queensland Governments’ Fee-Free TAFE initiative,” he said.
Also offered across the state, the Battery Electric Vehicle Inspection and Servicing Skill Set (AURSS00064) delivers eligible qualified mechanics fee-free skills needed to begin working on the vehicles of the future – essential in Queensland over coming years as the Queensland Government implements its Zero Emission Vehicle Strategy and Action Plan which will see 100 per cent of passenger vehicle sales across the state be zero emission by 2036.
