Robotics and Advanced Manufacturing Centre drives future-ready training for REFF

TAFE Queensland’s new Robotics and Advanced Manufacturing Centre (RAMC) is set to play a pivotal role in powering Queensland’s workforce into the future, supporting the Regional Economic Futures Fund (REFF) by delivering cutting-edge training in automation and Industry 4.0 technologies.

Located in North Brisbane, the RAMC is a purpose-built facility designed to meet the growing demand for skilled workers in the rapidly evolving emerging industries.

With state-of-the-art workshops, digital labs, and modern learning spaces, the Centre will provide hands-on training in robotics, advanced manufacturing, process instrumentation, renewable technologies, electrotechnology, and telecommunications.

TAFE Queensland’s Emerging Industries Business Development Manager Sue Sheppard said the RAMC will significantly enhance training availability in the region, offering a pathway for students from TAFE at Schools programs through to advanced, post-trade upskilling, and important upskilling of REFF educators.

“As REFF continues to roll out across Queensland, the RAMC will have an important role in providing skilled educators for the delivery of innovative, future-ready training that supports sustainable jobs and stronger regional economies,” Ms Sheppard said.

“This facility is about preparing Queenslanders for the jobs of tomorrow. By aligning our training with the needs of emerging industries, we’re ensuring our educators are ready to lead in automation, robotics, and advanced manufacturing.”

The RAMC is a key component of the work being progressed by the REFF project, which aims to strengthen regional economies by investing in infrastructure, innovation, and workforce development.

“By providing specialised training in high-demand areas, the Centre will help ensure Queensland’s regions are well-positioned to attract investment and create new job opportunities,” Ms Sheppard said.

“Training taking place at the facility is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to support Queensland’s transition to a more automated, sustainable, and technologically advanced economy.”

TAFE Queensland continues to lead the way in vocational education and training, with the RAMC representing a bold step forward in preparing Queenslanders for the industries of the future.
