The teaching environment is diverse, with opportunities to teach in various locations across Queensland, including classrooms, workplaces, virtual classrooms, and industry-standard training facilities such as restaurants, simulators, and salons. 

TAFE Queensland values flexibility in delivery methods, ensuring that training can be adapted to meet the needs of students and industry demands. This approach not only enhances the learning experience but also keeps the teaching environment dynamic and engaging. 

Your steps to becoming a teacher

To become a teacher with TAFE Queensland, you need to demonstrate vocational competency relevant to the training package being delivered and possess current industry skills. Required qualifications include a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122) or higher-level qualifications in adult education.

To teach with TAFE Queensland you need to:

  • Be able to demonstrate vocational competency at least to the level of the training package being delivered,
  • Have current industry skills relevant to the teaching position, and
  • Hold one of the following qualifications:
