Our music and sound production facilities will give you the hands-on skills you need to prepare for a successful career in the music industry. With live performance spaces, recording studios, and industry-standard software, our music facilities have everything you need to launch your musical career.
South Bank
The Gig Studio is our live performance / teaching venue and features a line array audio system with digital consoles from Avid Allen and Heath. Along with the audio system including LED and moving fixtures controlled via Chamsys and LSC. Our main studio is a world class recording facility featuring an SSL Duality Console and Avid HD convertors. Along with our fully featured signal processing rack we offer the best in both analogue and digital recording.
The studio and live room are resourced with a selection of high-quality microphones including Neumann, Royer Labs, Mojave, Beyer Dynamic, Shure, Sennheiser and Audio Technica. We also carry a range of backline including Yamaha/Pearl drums, Nord, Vox, Fender, Orange Marshall, Ampeg amplifiers and speaker cabinets.
Our project studios include iMac workstations supported by Focusrite interfaces and Novation Launchkey MDI controllers. The iMacs are equipped with the industry software including Protocols, Logic Pro and Ableton Live.
Each project studio has an attached acoustically treated, isolated recording room complete with vocal PA system, amplifiers, electronic and acoustic drums.
The facility also houses an immersive playback lounge featuring Dolby Atmos, Meyer Sound Spacemap Go powered by Adam Speakers.
Our sound production course aims to give you a comprehensive learning experience in both live studio production providing you with an employable skillset for entry into the music industry.
Cairns
The Cairns campus has a vibrant and welcoming performance-based music school. Our newly installed recording studio features state-of-the-art equipment including Pro Tools 12, Avid C24 Control Surface, and Neeve and SSL Preamps.
The campus also has two performance and rehearsal spaces, including the R Block Theatre, where weekly concert practice and monthly open-to-the-public concerts are held. Our graduates regularly achieve national and international recognition with airplay on stations such as Triple J and performances at some of Australia's biggest music festivals.
Coomera
At Coomera campus, we provide our students with an immersive and innovative learning environment equipped with cutting-edge audio production facilities. Our campus boasts seven professional-quality studios that are fully equipped with industry-standard software such as Pro Tools and Logic Pro, as well as a variety of plug-in bundles from manufacturers like Slate Digital, Sound Toys, Universal Audio, and Waves.
In addition to our state-of-the-art recording studios, our campus also features a 200-seat auditorium/live music venue, complete with a clarity lighting rig and both digital and analogue live sound equipment, including consoles from renowned brands like Digico and Yamaha. Our industry-standard studio and live microphone collection features top-of-the-line mics from leading manufacturers like Neumann, Beyerdynamic, Coles, Sennheiser, Shure, and Rode.
Furthermore, our campus is equipped with high-quality backline gear in all of our studios, featuring instruments and equipment from respected brands like Yamaha, Marshall, Vox, Fender, Ampeg, Korg, Pearl, Ludwig, and Roland. We also have dedicated Mac and PC-based music creation labs, as well as non-linear editing suites.
Our goal is to provide our students with the most up-to-date and comprehensive audio production education possible, and our cutting-edge equipment, including Digico and Yamaha consoles, Pro Tools and Logic Pro software, and top-of-the-line microphones and plug-ins, enables them to gain the technical and practical skills they need to succeed in the industry.
