Swallow Tail Nursery
The Horticulture TAFE program provides students living with a disability with a unique opportunity to learn Nursery and Gardening skills on campus delivered by experts in the Horticulture field. The program develops skills in nursery propagation, nursery plant care, planting small shrubs and trees, pot up plants, work effectively in the industry, maintain properties and structures, Work place health and safety, Treat weeds , pest and diseases, recognise plants, Support turf establishment, prune shrubs and small trees and operate basic machinery and equipment. The practical nature of the course will allow students to develop their skills to be a horticultural worker within the Nursery and Gardening industry. The course will be run from Grovely campus.
Successful completion of this course will qualify you to work as a horticultural assistant, or a nursery or garden labourer. You will also get the foundation knowledge needed to undertake further study in this field.
