Resources required
You are responsible for meeting the minimum occupational health and safety requirements in practical classes including protective footwear with covered uppers and steel capped toes and 100% cotton drill industry-standard protective clothing (no singlets). If you do not meet these minimum standards of dress, you will not be permitted entry into practical classes. Students are also required to bring personal stationery and a USB.
You will be provided with a recommended reading list and/or required textbooks after enrolment, during orientation or at the start of each unit. The purchase of these resources may incur additional costs, or you may be able to borrow them from the TAFE Queensland library network.
You are also required to have access to and bring personal stationery, a USB, and a calculator.
Placement
There are no formal vocational placement requirements for this qualification. However, we encourage you to consider completing work experience in a trades environment specific to your course to develop your practical skills, engage with the industry, and increase future employment opportunities. TAFE Queensland may be able to assist in finding work experience placements.
Please note: Work experience is not available at our South West locations.
