Course overview

Unilearn is a comprehensive online, self-paced program, designed as a University pathway that equips you with the means to fulfil the prerequisite requirements for your tertiary studies through our individual units. All of this is achieved through a fully online, self-paced learning environment.

The below units are Grade 10 equivalent:

UNL10 Building Literacy Skills
This course has been designed to equip you with the essential knowledge and skills that form the foundation of effective literacy. It serves as a comprehensive preparation for UNL11 Academic Literacy Skills, offers a potential pathway toward achieving those skills, or facilitates the enhancement of your literacy abilities to align with the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) Level 3.

UNL30 Building Numeracy Knowledge and Skills
This unit is designed to help you acquire the essential knowledge required for entry into UNL31 Introductory Mathematics. It also aims to enhance your numeracy skills to an ACSF level 3, enabling you to pursue further studies, employment opportunities, or service pathways.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

Selection criteria

Unilearn assumes that upon enrolling in an online unit, you possess a certain level of computer familiarity and competency. This includes proficiency in utilising programs such as Word, Excel, and Adobe Reader, as well as the ability to perform basic tasks like employing the Save-As function, attaching files, saving low-resolution images, and effectively inserting and manipulating images and tables within Word documents.

Resources required

The only textbooks mandatory to purchase are the Economics eBooks.  All other hardcopy textbooks are optional and can be purchased online via the Qld Textbook Warehouse (qtw.com.au).

Important information

If you are an off-shore student, you do not require a student visa, you can complete your study in your home country.

Please note the advertised cost is per unit.

Unilearn has developed these units at an equivalent level to the literacy/numeracy requirements of a Level 3 ACSF.  These literacy/numeracy standards generally reflect Year 10 levels.

Bridging studies
Single-subject bridging units will not get a rank but can be used to:

  • meet subject prerequisites
  • gain tertiary study skills
  • gain basic knowledge in a selected subject.

If you want to go on to further study at university, TAFE Queensland has a pathway option to get you there. In many cases, completing one of our diplomas may give you a full year of credit towards a degree with one of our partner universities.
