Course overview

Course overview

Progress your career in finance with this short course. This is a minimum requirement if you are seeking registration as a business activity statement (BAS) agent with the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB).

The accounting services industry has grown over the past five years on the back of steady economic growth and increasing demand for industry-specific expertise. As the taxation office continues to enforce stricter reporting requirements, small business owners are seeking external expertise to assist with financial services.

In this course you will develop the skills and knowledge required to establish and maintain a payroll system. You will also learn to identify and apply compliance requirements to effectively process and complete business activity statements (BAS). This course is one of the available financial skill-sets offered at TAFE Queensland.

Successful completion of this course will also meet the minimum academic requirements with the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) for registration as a business activity statement (BAS) agent. If you choose to undertake further study this skill-set will credit two units of competency towards the Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or the Certificate IV in Accounting.
