Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

Selection criteria

Whilst there are no formal entry requirements for this course TAFE Queensland has the following selection criteria:

To be considered for enrolment into this course you will be required to meet the entry requirements and undergo a phone interview. You must be the owner or operator of a small business for the past 12 months. To arrange this, please call 1300 40 60 80.

Vocational placement

The course structure is 4 x 3 hour face-to-face group workshops or 5 x one on one session’s. In addition to the workshop sessions, there is supportive online learning. During and after the workshops you will be actively working on business activities such as your business action plan and reflecting on your knowledge and skills by completing our online quizzes. These activities will all be assessable by your business mentor.

Notepads and pens as well as a tablet or laptop computer.

This course is underpinned by the BSB42515 Certificate IV in Small Business Management, through an accelerated learning offering. Our course has been tailored to the key needs of growing and developing business owners, managers and leaders. Your existing skills, experience, and knowledge in business will be leveraged upon within our workshops and online learning. We aim to extend and build your knowledge and experience through our small group or one-on-one workshop session.

 You will have 16 weeks from your start of study to complete your course.

Assessment Methods

Skill and knowledge assessments are an essential step in progressing through your course. You may be assessed in a number of ways while you are studying at TAFE Queensland, including observation, written assessment, questioning, portfolios, work samples, third-party feedback, and through recognition of prior learning.
