As a TAFE Queensland student, you have access to our computer network and a range of digital services including WiFi, Connect, Studiosity, Password Manager and more.
On this page you will learn more about each system, what they do and how to access them.
Digital access
To access our digital services you first need to create a password by following these steps:
- To create a password use the Password Manager
- Enter your Student ID Number/User Name
- Follow the prompts.
Your password will remain valid for 12 months. Automatic reminders will prompt you to change your password as required.
Student portal
The student self service portal is your one-stop-shop for easy access to the information you need about your study with TAFE Queensland. On the portal you can:
- access your current study plan and results
- pay your fees and apply for a VET Student Loan
- update your address and contact details

Connect
Connect is TAFE Queensland's Learning Management System (LMS). For courses delivered through Connect, it will give you access to your study resources, the ability to submit assessments and communicate with teachers and classmates, the flexibility to study anywhere, any time, and more. Your Confirmation of Enrolment (COE) will tell you if your course is delivered through Connect. Your account information will be included in this documentation and/or emailed to you.
You will need to use yourstudentnumber@tqstudent.edu.au and password to log in.
If you have forgotten or need to reset your password, use the TAFE Password Manager.

Wrong login credentials
Check you are using the correct user ID (yourstudentnumber@tqstudent.edu.au) and the password you set when you registered with us. If you have not yet set a password or can no longer remember it please reset your password via the TAFE Password Manager - Student Password reset
Forgotten or expired password
Reset your password via the TAFE Password Manager.
Email not correct
Passwords are sent to your email. If your email is incorrect in our systems, this will prevent password reset from working via the TAFE Password Manager. Check that the email you provided TAFE Queensland is correct and that the reset email isn’t in your junk folder. To update your email contact us.
Can't find or access course or specific units
Not enrolled
Check that you are enrolled. If you are not enrolled, contact us to enrol. If you are enrolled and cannot access Connect, contact us. Please note that units/courses will not be available until the official Start of Study date (SOS).
Enrolled prior to Start of Study (SOS)
If you enrolled prior to your course commencement date, you will not be able to access your units until your Start of Study date (SOS). Additionally, you will not be able to access your units to make any amendments once the Close of Study date (COS) has passed. If your course/intake has commenced and you are unable to view your units, please contact us.
Teacher has not made it available
Confirm with your teacher if they are using Connect for your class (as not all classes have an online component). Please note that units/courses will not be available until the official Start of Study date (SOS).
Experiencing technical difficulties
Technical issues or device limitation
Check that your computer/device supports Connect using the System Check. If technical issues continue, try using a different web browser and/or a different computer or device.

Microsoft 365
Information on how to set up and access Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) as a TAFE Queensland student.
Retrieve your student ID number
You will need your Student ID to login to various TAFE Queensland systems. If you have forgotten or misplaced your Student ID number, use this tool to retrieve it.
Password management
Reset your password
If you have forgotten or need to reset your password, use the Password Manager.

Student password complexity requirements
Weak passwords leave your account vulnerable to access by others. Your password requires:
- A minimum of 9 characters and maximum of 64 characters AND
- characters from three of the following categories:
- An uppercase letter (A-Z)
- A lowercase letter (a-z)
- A numeric character (0-9)
- A special character (~!@#$%^&*_-+=`|\(){}[]:;"'<>,.?/)
Please note:
- Currency symbols such as the Euro (€) or British Pound (£) are not special characters for this policy setting.
- Passwords cannot contain your Student ID Number/User Name or any part of your Name.
Password tips
- Securely store your password
- Never share your password
- Avoid using common words or reusing passwords
- Use catch phrases or unlikely word combinations
WiFi
Free WiFi is available for students at all TAFE Queensland campuses.
You can use the WiFi to access your course materials, online services, and more. By using the WiFi you are agreeing to the student rules and policies.

Printing services for students
TAFE Queensland is making its student printing processes and pricing the same across the state. This change will ensure our students have a consistent experience, no matter where they study, how they study, or what they study.
Starting in 2025 every TAFE Queensland student, including those studying online, will get $10 of free credit for printing each semester. Any credit currently in your account will be carried over. This rollout will happen progressively throughout the year.
What credentials should I use to log in?
New or returning student? Enter the personal email address you registered with TAFE Queensland. Click 'Next', and we will send an Account Verification Code (one-time passcode) to your email to access your Portal.
Current student? Use your TAFE Queensland student email address (StudentID@tqstudent.edu.au) and password to sign in.
Note: Your TAFE Queensland student email address always starts with your nine-digit student ID. Example: 400000000@tqstudent.edu.au
Your student email address will only be valid while there is an active intent to study with TAFE Queensland. Please refer to the quick guide below.

Log in changes for the TAFE Queensland Student Portal
From 24 September 2026, you'll no longer use your 9-digit student ID to sign in to the Student Portal.
Instead, you'll use your TAFE Queensland student email address and your existing password.
Your student email address is your 9-digit student ID followed by @tqstudent.edu.au. For example: 123456789@tqstudent.edu.au
Student Sign-in Changes: Frequently Asked Questions
From 24 September 2026, TAFE Queensland is introducing a new sign-in and account recovery experience. Students will continue to access their TAFE Queensland systems, but password resets and unlocking accounts will move to a new secure self-service process.
These changes improve security, make it easier for students to regain access to their accounts, and reduce the need to contact support for password-related issues. The new sign-in experience is designed to be simpler, more secure and easier to manage.
No. Students will continue using their existing password.
You will only need to use the new Password Manager if you forget your password or your account becomes locked.
If you are a current student, you can use your TAFE Queensland student email address and your password.
If you are not currently studying with us, you can sign in using the personal email address recorded on your student account. An account verification code (one-time passcode) will be sent to that email address to confirm your identity before you access the Student Portal.
If you've forgotten your password, you can reset it by using the Password Manager available from the sign-in page.
You'll need:
- Your TAFE Queensland student email address
- Access to the personal email address recorded on your student account
You'll receive an account verification code (one-time passcode) and be guided through the password reset process.
If your account becomes locked after too many unsuccessful sign-in attempts, you can unlock it using the Password Manager. . You’ll be asked to verify your identity using an account verification code (one-time passcode), similar to the password reset process.
If you are a current student, you can sign in to the Student Portal using your TAFE Queensland Student email address and password. Once logged in, you will be able to update your personal email address.
If you are not currently studying with us and no longer have access to the email address recorded on your account, please call TAFE Queensland. Once your identity has been verified, you can provide us with your new email address and we will update your account.
The Student Portal contains your personal, financial and academic information. To help protect your privacy and support secure account access, each student account must be linked to a unique email address that only the student can access. Shared email addresses are not recommended for authentication.
You will need a unique email address to use the new sign-in and account recovery process.
If you don’t have an email address, you’ll need to create one before you can sign in to the Student Portal or use the new self-service Password Manager. Free email services such as Outlook or Gmail are available.
No. Your TAFE Queensland student email address will remain the same.
No. You will continue to sign in to the following TAFE Queensland systems and services using your existing TAFE Queensland student email address and password:
- Connect LMS
- TAFE Queensland email
- Microsoft 365
- Library services
- Campus computers
Please ensure your following details are current and accessible:
- Preferred email address
- Mobile phone number
These details may be used to help verify your identity, help you access your account and support account recovery if needed.
The change will take place between 9am and 4pm on 24 September 2026. During this time, you may experience temporary disruptions to Student Portal and the self-service Password Manager..
If you are already experiencing sign-in issues, we recommend resetting your password before the change period where possible.
If the Password Manager isn’t working, first check that:
- If you are a current student, you are using the correct student email address
- If you are not currently studying with us, you are using the personal email address linked to your account and can access that email account
- Your contact details recorded with TAFE Queensland are current
