In order for you to get the most out of your studies in Australia, there are minimum English language requirements you will need to meet. These requirements apply to all international students who do not speak English as their first language.

For most certificate III, certificate IV, diploma, and advanced diploma courses you will need an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic overall score of 5.5 (with no sub-score lower than 5.0). For most bachelor degrees you will need an IELTS Academic overall score of 6.5 (with no sub-score lower than 6.0). However some programs may require higher IELTS scores and/or have specific sub-score requirements.

Please check the relevant course brochure for full details on the English language entry requirements for your chosen course. <<insert course search module>>

If you don't meet the English language entry requirements, you may be able to complete one of our intensive English language training programs <<link to course search filtered by ELICOS>> before continuing onto your chosen course.

The following table details the equivalent English language test scores to the required IELTS levels. On your application you will be required to meet at least one of the English language entry requirements listed below.
