Couple dine at hospitality hub 250 times
Two-hundred and fifty is the number of lunches Yolanda Howard and her husband Oswald have enjoyed at TAFE Queensland’s Hospitality Hub in Southport.
The loyal customers have dined at the Hub multiple times a week for the past four years and said they will keep returning as long as they can.
“We absolutely love our lunches at the Hub, the food is delightful the service is wonderful and the price is just unbeatable,” said Mrs Howard.
“With a different menu each day, we rarely eat the same thing twice and get to try new foods that we wouldn’t usually choose.”
“It’s a surprise every time we go as we don’t know what we are going to get, but every meal is nutritious and wholesome with a balanced combination of the food groups.”
The Hospitality Hub on the Nerang Mall in Southport is a fine dining restaurant run by TAFE Queensland’s hospitality and cookery students.
With experienced chefs and hospitality teachers at the helm, students learn everything related to customer service and cookery in a real-life setting.
Mrs Howard said if you enjoy fine dining, but can’t afford to indulge regularly at popular Gold Coast restaurants then she encourages a visit to the Hub.
“Where else can you have a three-course á la carte meal for under twenty-five dollars on the Gold Coast,” she said.
“Not only will you enjoy the finest quality in food and service for a great price, but it’s especially rewarding to part of someone’s learning journey and to watch them blossom throughout their course.”
“Our patronage helps the next generation of chefs, wait, bar and barista staff gain the experience they need to get a job and lead successful careers.”
The couple from Paradise Point said another reason for returning to the Hub each week is because of the dedicated teachers.
“The teachers are so welcoming and have the patience of saints, just watching them interact and lead the students as they learn is really inspirational,” said Mr Howard.
TAFE Queensland’s Southport Hospitality Hub is a fully licensed contemporary style restaurant open during the academic semester for lunch on selected weekdays from 12pm.
The Hub offers a different menu each day depending on the availability of fresh local produce and the students training requirements.
Patrons can choose from a number of dining options with $22.00 getting diners a three-course lunch.
