Advance your current scope of practice to include administering and monitoring IV medication with this specialised short course, designed specifically for Enrolled Nurses. In this flexible online course, you’ll learn how to prepare, administer and monitor intravenous medications as well as how to minimise risk. Your studies will be fully supported by expert Registered Nurse Educators who are available via email, online forums or online chat rooms.

Prior to enrolling into the unit of study, TAFE Queensland will require written confirmation of your employer's support to complete the workplace observation (assessment 5) through an authorisation form signed by your Director of Nursing.

Students that are Medication Endorsed but want to complete IV medications will now need to enrol into this unit. All components of this unit must be completed as the Medication Administration cannot be separated from the IV medications.
Students that are not endorsed and have a notation on their AHPRA registration stating that they cannot administer medications will need to complete this unit before the notation is able to be removed by AHPRA. They will then be able to administer IV medications as per their employers' policy and procedures.
