Bakers and patissiers produce bread, cakes, desserts, and petit fours for various business including patisseries, retail bakeries, restaurants, hotels, catering operations, and cafés. Demand for bakers and patissiers in Australia continues to grow. In 2015 there were more than 32,000 people employed as bakers and pastry cooks with job openings over the next five years expected to be between 10,000 and 25,000.

As a bakery or patisserie student at TAFE Queensland you'll gain practical experience in our on-campus training kitchens and restaurants. You'll prepare and serve bread and patisserie items for real customers in a live retail environment.
