Demand for qualified marketing and business professionals with knowledge of these developing areas is growing with job openings expected to exceed 50,000 over the next five years.

This course will equip you with specialised knowledge in customer research, web design, and digital marketing and communications. You'll gain practical experience developing promotional programs and business and marketing plans. In addition, you will learn how to pitch advertising concepts, identify and exploit market opportunities, and understand consumer behaviour. You will also develop specialised knowledge in project work and workforce planning management.

Entry requirements

Entry to this qualification is limited to those who have completed all core units in BSB42415 Certificate IV in Marketing and Communication:-

  • BSBCMM401 Make a presentation​
  • BSBCRT401 Articulate, present and debate ideas​
  • BSBMGT407 Apply digital solutions to work processes​
  • BSBMKG417 Apply marketing communication across a convergent industry​
  • BSBMKG418 Develop and apply knowledge of marketing communication industry

Selection criteria

Domestic Students
Further to the above Entry Requirements, there are no Selection criteria requirements for Domestic Students.

International Students
Further to the above Entry Requirements, the following Selection criteria requirements are for International Students:-

  • English Language Proficiency: Academic IELTS 5.5 (no individual band less than 5.0) or ISLPR 2+ on all skills or other - For a list of all English Language test accepted by TAFE Queensland International
  • Academic Requirements: Completion of Year 12 (or equivalent). Non school-leavers must have relevant work experience or qualification that indicates likely success of course completion. For more information on the international education achievement levels equivalent to Year 10 and 12.

Students should be a minimum of 18 years of age. Student visa applicants under the age of 18 will be accepted where they demonstrate that they will be accompanied by a parent, legal custodian or a suitable relative who is aged 21 or over. Resources required

It is recommended that students have access to a reliable internet connection to access TAFE Queensland's online learning system Connect and a computer with up-to-date software, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Reader and Adobe Flash Player. This equipment and software is available for students to use at all TAFE Queensland locations.

Courses may require different resources, depending on your study location.
