The Shire of Burdekin is located between Townsville and Bowen and is home to 18,000 residents spread throughout 19 towns and localities. Our Burdekin campus is located in the Shire's second largest town of Home Hill. Residents enjoy the laid-back atmosphere of the Shire enjoying the regions great cafes and restaurants, speciality stores, shady parks, and excellent public amenities.
Our Burdekin campus offers courses designed to meet the needs to the local community. Study areas include early childhood education and care, first aid, hairdressing, and engineering courses specialising in mechanical trades, fitting and turning, boilermaking, and metal fabrication.
Our fully operational hairdressing salon, Protégé Training Centre, offers a range of services such as hair styling, cutting, colouring, perming, and chemical straightening. We use the same products, equipment, and facilities found in a real salon and practice the latest hairdressing techniques on real, paying clients. You'll have the opportunity to put theory into practice and gain practical skills in a real-world environment under the supervision of highly-qualified and experienced staff.
