TRADE SKILLS ASSESSMENT AND GAP TRAINING PROGRAM

The Trade Skills Assessment and Gap Training (TSAGT) Program aims to assess the skills of experienced individuals who can demonstrate substantial competency in a priority trade qualification.

 

HOW FUNDING WORKS

Funding is paid directly to TAFE Queensland. Where funding doesn’t cover the full cost of the program, you will be required to contribute towards the remaining course fees.

ELIGIBILITY

The TSAGT Program targets individuals assessed as demonstrating substantial competency in a priority trade qualification. To be eligible participants must be able to:

  • successfully complete a minimum of 60% of the qualification through recognition of prior learning (RPL) and;
  • require gap training for a minimum of 1 unit, but no more than 40% of the funded competencies of the qualification.

Participants must also:

  • Be aged 21 years of age or over
  • Permanently reside in Queensland
  • Be an Australian citizen, or Australian permanent resident, Refugee and Humanitarian Visa Holder, temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency, or a New Zealand citizen
  • Not have previously completed a trade qualification in the same industry area
  • Not be working for a government department or agency
  • Not currently be an apprentice or trainee as defined in the Further Education and Training Act 2014.
