The Trade Skills Assessment and Gap Training (TSAGT) program aims to assess the skills of experienced individuals who can demonstrate substantial competency in a priority trade qualification. TAFE Queensland is a proud recipient of funding from the Queensland Government, Department of Employment, Small Business and Training (DESBT) for this program.
There are two parts to this program – a process called recognition of prior learning (RPL), and gap training.
We will use RPL to carefully assess what you already know and can do. We will look at past qualifications, current work and life experience. Once we know what skills you do have, we can determine if you need to do any additional training – called gap training – to complete the qualification.
Take a look at the eligible list of qualifications below, and get in touch with us for more information.
The Queensland Government will fund the costs for the RPL process. Through this program you may be able to RPL a majority of your chosen qualification. Most of the gap training costs will also be covered – you will only need to make a minimal contribution of $1.60 per hour of gap training.
You may be required to pay for any enrolment charges i.e. identification card, tuition fees, service fees, material fees and any other costs associated with delivering the training and assessment.
