To work at TAFE Queensland, you generally need to meet the following eligibility requirements:

- Search for vacancies: Browse the advertised vacancies to find a role that matches your skills and interests.
- Submit your application via TAFE Queensland's jobs portal: Complete the online application form, including your resume and any other required documents. You can also track the progress of your applicaiton through the portal.
- Our selection process can involve a range of techniques, which can include reviewing your resume and application letter, undertaking an in-person or online interview, practical or structured individual or group exercises, work samples, aptitude and ability tests, and role-plays.
- Applicants who are short-listed will be contacted to arrange an interview time, and sufficient notice will be provided to applicants of their interview requirements.

All candidates will be notified of the outcome of the application in writing. This can take some time as, until the successful candidate accepts the role, other applicants are not deemed unsuccessful.
- TAFE Queensland pre-employment checks can include (but are not limited to) confirmation of qualifications, professional employment history, professional registration/s and previous employment history, including any prior serious disciplinary action and Australian work rights status.
- A criminal history check will be completed for all recommended candidates.
- Offer letter: You’ll receive a formal offer letter outlining the terms and conditions of your employment, including your start date, salary, and other relevant details.
- Acceptance: You’ll need to formally accept the offer, usually by signing and returning the offer letter.
- Onboarding process: TAFE Queensland will guide you through an onboarding process, which may include orientation sessions, training, and introductions to your team and workplace.
- Background checks: If not already completed, you may need to undergo any required background checks, such as a Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
- Induction: You’ll participate in an induction program to familiarise yourself with TAFE Queensland’s policies, procedures, and workplace culture.
- Starting your role: You’ll begin your new role, with support from your team and supervisors to help you settle in and understand your responsibilities.
