At TAFE Queensland we deliver contemporary degrees in a practical, job-focused learning environment. Our students get the best of both worlds — the theoretical side of a university degree, with the applied-learning style that makes TAFE Queensland graduates so highly sought after by employers. In addition to offering our own boutique degrees, we have partnered with some of Australia’s most respected universities to provide you with up-to-date skills for a changing workforce, along with the adaptable thinking needed to make your mark in any industry.

Diploma to degree pathways

If you’re a current TAFE Queensland diploma student, you’re in a unique position to take advantage of our diploma to degree pathway option. As soon as you complete your diploma, you automatically qualify for a provisional place in a relevant University of Canberra degree, with up to one year of credit.

If you have completed a qualification elsewhere, or already have some work experience, you may be eligible for advanced standing. This means you may receive credit for subjects you've already completed so you don’t have to study them again.

Dual awards

The faster way to a degree

TAFE Queensland offers a range of dual award courses so you can graduate with two qualifications in the same amount of time it usually takes to complete one. This means you can leap into your first role before completing your second qualification, paving the way for greater success when you graduate.

How it works

By choosing to enrol in a dual award you not only secure your spot in your diploma course, but you lock in a guaranteed place in your chosen degree at the same time. Once you successfully complete the diploma components of your dual award, you can transition straight into your degree without having to apply again.

Your diploma usually counts as a full year of credit towards a three year degree, which means you only have two years to gain your degree. You would then graduate with both your diploma and your bachelors qualification.

A dual award allows you to steadily build your skills, confidence and knowledge as you take your first steps into industry.
