Course overview

Kick start your career in the beauty industry with this dual qualification in make-up and retail cosmetics. You'll develop the practical skills required to become a cosmetic assistant or make-up artist. The beauty services industry is projected to grow within Australia over the next five years. Many hair and beauty service providers are looking to expand their service offering with all-inclusive packages encompassing make-up, hair, beauty and nail treatments.

Learn make-up application techniques ranging from foundation skills through to advanced techniques such as photographic, airbrushing, remedial camouflage, and creative makeup. You'll also develop complimentary retail skills including how to offer advice on beauty products, and how to sell to the retail customer. Our industry connected teachers will guide, develop, and refine your make-up and retail skills and help you gain that professional edge.

This dual qualification provides a range of employment options in the beauty industry. Gain the skills to work as a retail sales consultant in beauty and hairdressing salons, retail outlets, and department stores, or become a make-up artist and work at retail cosmetic counters, fashion and media sets, or photography studios.
