Upon successful completion of this course, you may apply to the Electrical Safety Office (ESO) to become a Qualified Technical Person (QTP) for the Electrical Contractors Licence.
By 1 January 2019, QTP nominees will need you to have held their licence for at least two years.

Courses delivered on campus may have a combination of online and classroom based learning. Students are expected to undertake additional personal study to complete the course requirements.

To satisfy the requirements of the Electrical Safety Office (ESO), Qualified Technical Person (QTP) must hold a current Queensland Electrical Mechanic work licence for at least 12 months.
Interstate licence holders will need to apply for a Queensland licence, but will have time recognised for when they obtained their original licence.

You will complete one unit at a time by self-paced/ mixed mode learning. Each unit must be completed within 6 months of the date of enrolment.
Skill and knowledge assessments are an essential step in progressing through your course. You may be assessed in a number of ways while you are studying at TAFE Queensland, including observation, written assessment, questioning, portfolios, work samples, third-party feedback, and through recognition of prior learning.
