Course Orientation Session
Your compulsory ORIENTATION SESSION is vital to learn all the important information about your study with TAFE Queensland. This session will cover topics such as:
- How to submit assessments.
- Using our online learning management system (Connect).
- Your class group.
- Your timetable, textbooks, or equipment you need.
- Find out all the information you need to be prepared for your first class.
Your orientation is the first day of your course. There will also be a Meet and Greet session where you will get the opportunity to connect with support services such as the Library and Student Support staff.
Student handbook
The Student Handbook is your go-to resource for all the relevant information about starting your studies at TAFE Queensland.
It contains information about Orientation, timetables, digital access, student rules and responsibilities, support services, your campus, safety while on campus, among many more things!
Make sure you read through the handbook before your first class and keep it handy if you ever need to refer back to it later.

- Find out when and where your Orientation Session is.
- Set up your online account and work through the Student Online Orientation unit in Connect.

The Learning Skills Centre caters for students enrolled in certificate and diploma programs who are seeking additional help with their course work.
Students can visit the Learning Skills Centres by coming to any of the timetabled sessions in the library (no booking is required), joining our Zoom drop-in session or emailing us.
Your Student ID card is your passport to student life. You'll need it to borrow books from the library, gain access to certain facilities and sit exams.
